Busy Labor Day Weekend

WOW. My Labor Day weekend has been very VERY busy. Here’s what’s been going on at casa de la Clark:

  1. Sweet Home Alabama Music Inspired CompositionFriday trucker hubby came home after being on the road for two weeks. We enjoyed the weekend together. Too bad he had to leave out again this morning! :(
  2. Saturday I turned in my first assignment for Design Fundamentals. My music inspired composition wasn’t as perfect as I would have liked. I was able to work on it for a few days but I would have preferred a few more days to really make it pop!
  3. We also celebrated Wild Man’s 4th birthday. In lieu of buying a bunch of toys that will simply end up in the bottom of a toy box, we headed to the the Splasher’s of the South Sea’s Waterpark for a day of wet ‘n wild fun! They have four water slides of varying heights. The littlest one loved the small slide in the kiddie area while J loved the other larger slides but I think his favorite two features was the lazy river and the BIG bucket of water that fills up and dumps water on everyone below. Hubby’s lower back really appreciated the hot tub after being in a bouncing truck for two weeks. lol
  4. Sunday was filled with cupcake baking for the “official” birthday celebration as well as a firing up the grill for our weekly Sunday dinner off the grill. Steaks and sautéed fall vegetables was delish!
  5. Sadly, hubby left our early this morning to go back to work. He’ll miss J’s first day of school tomorrow but with any luck he will be home for Wild Man’s first day of preschool. Today we’re busy packing up for school tomorrow and I need to pre-bake some breakfast goodies to help expedite our morning routine.

I’m glad Monday is finally here. Maybe I can relax later today! What’s everyone been up to this long holiday weekend.

Happy Labor Day everyone!!! ;D
