Even if you don’t have a blog to promote, guest authoring is a great way to build your portfolio so you should include links to your email or other professional networks so my readers can find more of your articles and posts.

Guidelines for guest posting on Frugal Front Porch

My main goal is to help promote other bloggers so their posts will get priority over non-bloggers.
Guest posts on a variety of topics are accepted but the overall purpose of the article must be to inspire or teach the readers of Frugal Front Porch something.
Bio section should include links to your blog, about page, portfolio site, or your social media circles.

If you don’t have links like this then let me know so we can work out something.
Links to pages you didn’t author with a bunch of affiliate links will not be accepted.

Only relevant links will be accepted in the content area.

Links to pages that have nothing to do with the post’s subject, will not be accepted.

Rules for your guest post content:

Only guest posts with original content are accepted but if you’ve written the same article and published it somewhere else then my blog will get penalized for the duplicate content. This doesn’t benefit either of us!
However…if you have a relevant article previously published online, it can be accepted with a significant re-write, this will be acceptable since it will not be seen as duplicate content by search engines.
Include a short bio at the end of your post along with your email address so I can let you know the status of your article once the review is complete.
Frugal Front Porch reserves the right to format, edit and alter the article to fit the overall style and feel of this site but you will still get a linked by-line.

Images are acceptable

Feel free to include a photo with your post. In fact, I encourage you to submit images with your posts! Images are accepted but they must be your own images and should include a copyright watermark to avoid any potential copyright violations.

Image size is limited to 400 pixels wide by 500 pixels high.
Generally only two images are permitted per post but you can use more images if it would help benefit the reader (such a craft or recipe post)

Please attach the photos in an email to jenrik06(at)yahoo(dot)com with the subject titled “Guest Post NAME OF YOUR POST” so I can manually add them.
OR, you can upload them to a photo site like Flickr, Picasa, etc and include links to the post in the form below. I’ll save those images to my server with a link to where you originally published them so the post will continue to load quickly in the user’s browser and your photo host will still get the link credit.

Any images submitted without a copyright ownership confirmation will not be used.

Once the Post is Reviewed

After the post is approved, you will receive an email notifying you of a publish date. While it’s not required, it is beneficial for you to promote the article in your own social media streams and blogs. Early promotion of the article helps build momentum with your own circle of followers and subscribers which will gain even more exposure for your post once it is published.

Once published, you post will be featured in Frugal Front Porch’s RSS and social media streams, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Google+, which include over 3,000 followers and subscribers.
