Save on your heating bill
In winter, keep drapes & blinds on south facing windows open during the day to allow sunlight & heat to enter your home.
Close drapes at night to help reduce heat loss.
Living in North Dakota where the windchill can get 15 BELOW zero, this tip works!!!
What’s your best tip to save on the winter heating bill???

Move the thermostat down a couple of degrees and keep it there. You can add more clothes to keep warm or more blankets on the bed at night. Check with your local electric cooperative and many have free energy saving tips or kits. We got a free kit from our local cooperative and it included some energy efficient twisty bulbs, some foam insulation templates to go behind the switchplates in each room, and tips on how to save energy in the winter. We are also thinking of putting up plastic over our windows this winter or installing foam strips in between doorways.
As crazy as this sounds, and believe me, I know it does sound crazy, the tip I really love is: Spritz water on some bubble wrap and put it on your windows to insulate them. Even with new windows, I could really tell a difference!
At the time I learned about this tip I had a TON o bubble wrap from shopping online at Wayfair.com all the time.
